Well K-State fans, it appears that AD Gene Taylor has found his guy.  With the coaching search coming to an end after nearly a week, we finally have some answers.  Taylor has decided that Chris Klieman is  the best man for the job. One main reason for this is his success. At NDSU, Klieman has gone 67-6 and has 3 FCS National Championships. I don’t know about you, but the championships bring some positivity and excitement to the hire, no matter what division those were in.  Klieman was officially introduced as HC Monday Evening, but had an official press conference early morning Tuesday.  With the Klieman, the post Snyder era has officially begun.  There is a lot of positivity and hype around the hire, but also some major doubters.  One main reason people are excited is he brings a winning tradition to KSU, but people doubt his skill, solely based off the fact that these wins are D2.  I personally am excited to see what the coaching change brings, and am eager to see if he can bring the cats to the top, just like the Bison in FCS.  All in all, the hire is official, and to the people that are unhappy, give the man a chance.  Gene Taylor obviously knew the guy he wanted and thought would be best for the job.  He was brought in as AD to find Snyder’s successor, and Klieman is the candidate he chose.  The fans need to show support for the guys and let them know they still are backing them.  Prepare for the ride K-State Fans, things are about to get real.

Possible Coaching Candidates

SethLitrell

With the departure of Bill Snyder, the Kansas State coaching job has been left wide open.  Everyone knows that Snyder has always wanted his son Shawn to take over the program.  Here is our top three realistic coaching options for the Cats.

Seth Litrell

Seth Litrell has been thrown around as the frontrunner for the KSU job, and rightfully so.  He has led the Mean Green to two straight nine win seasons. Although that may not seem impressive, North Texas finished 1-11 the year before he took over the job. Lastly, Litrell’s recruiting class at North Texas is higher than K-State’s class was this season.

Brent Venables

Brent Venables seems to be the fan favorite this offseason.  Venables seems like the perfect candidate, previously playing for the cats under Snyder.  He is one of the top paid asistants, and has been to the playoff with Clemson.  He also is known as someone who is able to recruit well, and gets along with players.

Jim Leavitt

Jim Leavitt is known to want the KSU coaching job.  It is in his contract at Oregon.  He seems to be another liked candidate, and has coaching experience.  Although the front runners seem to be Venables and Litrell, look for Leavitt’s name to be thrown around as well.
